I-89 Traffic Impacts
BELOW IS A MESSAGE FROM THE STATE OF VERMONT

PROJECT TYPE: Bridge Rehabilitation
LOCATION:
I-89 between Exit 16 and Exit 17 in the Town of Colchester, Chittenden County
TRAFFIC IMPACT:
Travel impacts include reducing I-89 to one lane in the non-peak direction between the hours of 7 AM and 3 PM. I-89 northbound can be reduced to one lane during the weekday AM peak hours (7 AM to 2 PM) and I-89 southbound can be reduced to one lane during the weekday PM peak hours (10 AM to 3 PM).
DURATION:
The work scheduled to occur Monday through Friday, will require lane closures on I-89 between the hours of 7 AM and 3 PM.
PROJECTED COMPLETION:
November 2019
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES/NOTICES:
Crews will begin placing median barriers along I-89 and installing construction fencing throughout the work zone. A crew will be inspecting the bridges' substructures for minor damage and begin repairs to abutments and piers. Construction activities will require I-89 between Exit 16 and Exit 17 to be reduced to one lane in the non-peak direction throughout the week, expect delays.
