Human Rights Day is December 10

This December 10th, 2023, we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the United Nations' adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UHDR).

The UDHR is a milestone document that proclaims the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth, or other status. Available in more than 500 languages; it is the most translated document in the world.

The 2023 theme for Human Rights Day, set by the United Nations General Assembly, is: Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All.

Human Rights Pledge

We encourage everyone to take the Human Rights Pledge:

  • When anyone’s human rights are denied, everyone's rights are undermined, so I will STAND UP.
  • I will raise my voice. I will take action. I will use my rights to stand up for your rights.
